Study of Impacts of Roads from Self-Driving Vehicles
IIJA bill directs the Secretary to initiate a study on the existing and future impacts of self-driving vehicles on transportation infrastructure, mobility, the environment, and safety, including impacts on the Interstate System, urban roads, rural roads, corridors with heavy traffic congestion, and transportation system optimization. The study will include specific recommendations for both rural and urban communities regarding the impacts of self-driving vehicles on existing transportation system capacity.
